Read on to hear Lauren shed light into her thoughts behind the designs and what inspired her during the process. We're pretty confident you’ll be inspired to suit up in one of these looks (or a few) and book your next getaway, all for an empowering cause.

Lauren, what made you want to team up with Vitamin A to create your first swim capsule collection?

Lauren: Vitamin A is all about the idea that, “sustainability is sexy,", and they are serious about taking steps to reduce their environmental footprint. Using recycled materials for their swimwear is a huge part of this. Their dedication to using high quality materials and producing locally in California is very important to me. They also make a point to celebrate the power and beauty of all women. This is reflected in their timeless and classic swimwear design that I have been a long-time fan of. All of their core values are ones that I agree with. Because of this I was excited to partner with Vitamin A and support their vision.

During the design process, what was it like working with Amahlia and the Vitamin A team?

Lauren: Working with Amahlia and the Vitamin A team was great because we clicked instantly. We had a similar vision for the line and all of our collaborative ideas and designs fit together. The final results of this capsule collection truly reflect this synergy.

Each piece is perfect. Give us some insight into what inspired your designs.

Lauren: When it comes to swim, I like classic bodies that make a statement in a subtle way. If I’m going to be at the beach or the pool, I want neutral colors that don’t clash with my natural surroundings. I also wanted to create a line that plays with fabrics and cuts rather than patterns. The end result was a very classic and feminine collection that will look amazing in any setting. I was also inspired to design this collection because I knew that it would be special for the women who would wear it, while also supporting a GREAT cause.

You’ve partnered with the non-profit organization, Girls Inc. to receive a portion of the proceeds from this collaboration. Tell us about why you chose this particular organization?

Lauren: The Vitamin A team and I wanted to support an organization making active and noticeable changes for women and girls. I love that Girls Inc. is helping to empower young girls today to be tomorrow’s world changers, and I wanted to be able to lend my voice and be a part of the changes they are making in the lives of girls across the U.S.

If you had to choose one, which piece would you say is your favorite from this collection and why?

Lauren: I love the Leah bodysuit because it's flattering on all body types and is also a great transitional piece to wear from the beach during the day to dinner and drinks at night!

Describe the girl you picture wearing the pieces you designed for Vitamin A + Lauren B.

Lauren: I feel like any girl can wear these pieces since they’re cut to be flattering for all body types. I really want women to feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful in their own bodies and in my suits.
